#AtoZchallenge K is for King, Stephen King

Some of my favorite writerly lessons have come from Stephen King. Today, I'm going to share a YouTube video with you. There are lots of videos with Stephen King himself, go check them out if you ever feel stuck on your writing journey. However, today I'm going to share a great synopsis of what is in his book On Writing.

Have you read this? What was your favorite part?

On Writing remains my favorite book on writing. I loved the whole thing, but I really liked the part at the end where he walked the reader through his revision process. I found that very helpful.

ON WRITING is one of the best books on the subject ever written. King is a genius and a very admirable person. I also love Ray Bradbury's book ZEN AND THE ART OF WRITING.

LOve me some King! My favorite part is "Talent renders the whole idea of rehearsal meaningless; when you find something at which you are talented, you do it (whatever it is ) until your fingers bleed or your eyes re ready to fall out of your head. Even when no one is listening (or reading or watching)......"

I've never read anything my Stephen King, though I tried several times, and each time gave up after the first 3 chapters. But I have been great interested in his book "On Writing".

I've read this a few times. I just love it. The part about the giant toolbox - keeping all your writing tools with you - always stuck with me.

So many people have recommended On Writing, even people that don't care for Stephen King's books and have a totally different writing style, but I have yet to read it. Still on my must-read list!
