Life Raft

Awesome Job yesterday!! :D I love it when a twist occurs...

Let's keep up the momentum with today's prompt!

She pulled on the rope, dragging the life raft closer to shore. The pale hand hung limply over the side, almost dragging in the balmy water. This had definitely not gone according to plan.

When Amy sent her cry for help in her last Perrier bottle, she was certain rescue would be on its way. Now she was the one doing the rescuing.

She hesitated when she saw the ring, its dull gold the color of amber. In that moment, Phillip's betrayal was apparent. He said he'd lost that ring. Now here it was on Julia's limp finger.

Part of her wanted to push the raft and Julia back out to sea, then he wouldn't have to choose between them. As she looked at her sister's cracked lips, her rage cooled just a bit.

Amy reached in and heaved Julia over the side of the boat. They had to find shelter before the storm hit. The huge thunderheads rolled toward them like a tidal wave in the sky.

She was the one who loved the water, she was the one who had talked him into going out. It had taken all her strength to drag her beloved computer jock back on the raft. But it was his fault. He was the one standing on the edge holding one foot out over the water to show how brave he was when that ski boat suddenly appeared causing a huge wave.

As she pulled Julia out of the boat Amy could see her husband collapsed on the shore . It suddenly all seemed so obvious, so simple. She tugged the ring from her twin sister's mottled blue hand and released her into the violent cold seas. Placing the ring on her own hand she though to herself if he wanted Julia, he would have her.
