Lonely Bloggers

Jeffrey here. I’m pretty sure this is my week to post at Unicorn Bell. If it’s not, then whoopsie! However, it has been about a month since my last posting. I’m thinking it’s time anyhow.

Of course, many people might not even notice because of the A-Z Challenge Blogfest that’s dominating the Blogosphere this month. It’s a fun challenge for sure, one that I’ve participated in last year. This year, however, my priorities have changed, and it’s not something I felt I could dedicate the proper time such a challenge deserves.

My post today has nothing to do with encouraging or dissuading someone from participating in A-Z. It’s a wonderful program, giving over 1500 blogs the chance to connect with one another. What I will talk about briefly is that should you not choose to participate in this, do NOT feel guilty about it. Our friends in A-Z will understand our situations, and they’ll return in a few weeks from their blogging adventures. Maybe now is the proper time for those who aren’t in A-Z to get to know one another and support each other. It can be downright lonely seemingly being the only person not taking part in this.

But something beautiful can arise out of standing alone, too. I’ll cover that part tomorrow in Part Two of my Lonely Bloggers Series.

Hi! Thanks for the nice post! I had planned to join the A-Z challenge, but because I want to complete revisions on my novel more, I chose not to. I did feel a little lonely yesterday, so I like your idea of us non-participants supporting each other, too! Have a great day. I'm looking forward to the next post tomorrow. :)

Thanks Jeffrey, and yes it is your week. ;)

I almost signed up but realized it was just because I didn't want to be left out. My life is too busy as it is so I opted out. Maybe one year I'll give it a try.

Until then I'll enjoy the posts I get to read.

I blog every day - but this A - Z makes it more fun and it's nice to part of something bigger too.

Thanks for this post. I was wondering if I was alone in this.

I read about the A-Z, but I wasn't exactly sure what it was about, and I just did not want to dedicate any more of my time. I just finished my ms and my priorities are to get it shining like gold. So this means editing, querying, entering every contest I see to get my name out there, and trying not to neglect my cps and betas in the process (which I am failing at).

I had no idea everyone and their mothers were going to be participating in the A-Z (I've only been blogging a couple of months)....I was beginning to feel like I missed the bus. :)

A to Z is fun, inspiring, challenging, and down-right difficult at times.

When I saw that some of my bloggers buddies didn't sign up, I was relieved. Sometimes it is nice to read a post that doesn't begin with a specific letter of the alphabet.

Still, it is a very cool blogfest though.

I agree that I wouldn't want any blogger buds to feel any guilt. I'm participating, mainly as a fun experiment with my Abigail and Basil romance and I'm enjoying blogs of all kinds each day, whether it's A to Z or not :-)

I think if I ever do it I'll have to have most of them per-scheduled for my own sanity. And I'd probably do it backwards Z-A. Just to be different. ;)

Oops, that was pre scheduled.

This is a great idea! The people who feel as though they have been abandoned by the remainder of the crowd (though I imagine there are many more than 1600+ bloggers online hehehh)can peruse at a much calmer pace, and enjoy one another through words. I like it! Thank you for stopping by my A-Z Haiku.

I decided to abandon my own blog this month, read only a few select bloggers, and hopefully get some writing done.

I think it amazing that so many have signed up for the A-Z. So many more co-hosts were needed this year. What a fantastic event. I'm hoping to be more organized and participate next year. But, it will be fun to read some of the posts - the themes are so unique and varied.

Just popping by to congratulate the blogfest winner. Congrats to Julie that was an awesome twisted fairy tale.

This is the first time I've done the A to Z challenge... and there are surely a whole lot of people in my blogfeed that are doing it, but I don't see any reason for anyone to feel guilty about not doing it either. I've been a little baffled to see how seriously a lot of people take it. I just figured it was a fun thing to do in April, and I'm treating it that way. No pre-written posts for me... I'm not even sure what I'm writing about for tomorrow! :)

C is for... cookies? Mrs Fields Taste Test?

Whatever you write about, I'm here... :)

I'm doing it, but I'm still reading my regular blogs too, whether they're taking part or not.
