Wednesday’s Question and my answer. What is your beloved genre and what other genre would you like to try?

I worship Fantasy, all flavors, but a storyline blossomed after hearing a line from a movie, Unforgiven. 
And there was nothing on the marker to explain to Mrs. Feathers why her only daughter had married a known thief and murderer, a man of notoriously vicious and intemperate disposition.
No magic, no dragons, no vampires. Writers: can you 'see' the story here in these few words?

Thursday’s Question. Is there one established author who drives your muse, whose books you purchase without reading the reviews or back cover?

    I'm up to 2110 in my "practice" word count (from 764 yesterday), Who knows maybe my practice will turn into something.

    I usually always read the back cover before buying because my favorite authors don't ALWAYS write what I love. Ex. I love Stephen King and Robin Hobb and Barbara Atwood but they don't write a book I love every single time.

    I used to have authors I'd just pick up, but I'm currently reading one that is changing my mind on that trust. *sigh* No names, but I've loved everything else but this one just isn't doing it for me.

      I sympathize with your author separation blues. Had one lady who I worshiped. Loved everything she wrote. Then one book trailed off in the land of Blah. And another ended in me throwing the book across the room.

      It is horrible when a beloved author turns on you. LOL, or at least it feels that way.

    Louis McMaster Bujold. Steve and Sharon Miller, to some extent. I love their Liaden Universe books, but some of the books outside that group have been seriously disappointing.

    No wordcount, no editing. Planning for a Christmas party (i.e., making presents for the giving tree) took precedence. I will be back tomorrow, though.

    I read all the Eli Monpress novels after reading two blog posts by Rachel Aaron, because I knew from those two that she was brilliant at writing. I also love Terry Pratchett, though buying every single book is somewhat impractical.
