I so wanted to lead off that statement with "Oh my God!" lol

I left Catholic school the year I went into 4th grade, switching into public schools. You know what hampered my early attempts at fiction? Thinking that I needed to outline it and go through all the regimented steps that public school in the 60s and the 70s instilled in me.

I feel so cheated! For three terror inducing years I withstood the ruler on the knuckles, and going to mass at the church next door to the school every Friday morning, not to mention the evil eye stares of the nuns. Had I stuck around, it would have paid off. ~sigh~

Thanks for this post. I did enjoy it--and I found some truths in it as well. :-)Teresa Cypherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08940430996766842518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4393512822627120580.post-15259764336357395652017-08-31T07:31:51.029-05:002017-08-31T07:31:51.029-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.المثالية للتنظيفhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04090112110126816047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4393512822627120580.post-60886267663798534352017-08-20T10:56:39.511-05:002017-08-20T10:56:39.511-05:00My first love attended Catholic school and now ide...My first love attended Catholic school and now identifies as pagan. ~grin~ Thank you for sharing this thoughtful post!Darla M Sandshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18212760625717298992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4393512822627120580.post-47274540442447721812017-07-19T14:47:51.574-05:002017-07-19T14:47:51.574-05:00You gave me so much to investigate! How intriguing...You gave me so much to investigate! How intriguing!
I want to know more stories about Catholic schools, Pomona College, AND Patterns of Culture, LOL. Loving this!

My experience in college was not a good one. My English teacher accused me of plagiarism. Not because she thought I was a thief or discovered I'd copied an author's work. Nope. She thought I was a plagiarist because my theme paper was *too* good. The "lady" gave me an F without proof, on a supposition, a preconceived belief.

Yes, it's been forty years and I still resent her. It affected me and my budding writerly ambitions.

Huntresshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08155372788872245758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4393512822627120580.post-9237727022523774272017-07-19T14:22:45.712-05:002017-07-19T14:22:45.712-05:00I did not got to Catholic school, but was fortunat...I did not got to Catholic school, but was fortunate to attend a public school that thrived on creativity songbird's crazy worldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11473854543986991104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4393512822627120580.post-90994666402397631382017-07-19T09:37:00.022-05:002017-07-19T09:37:00.022-05:00I went to Catholic school too; I remember those we...I went to Catholic school too; I remember those weekday Masses. During Lent we were at church almost every day because of Stations of the Cross, Confession, etc. My English teachers at Catholic school were great and were a big part of why I fell in love with writing and reading.Neurotic Workaholichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06775298184138766683noreply@blogger.com
