your holiday assignment should you choose to accept it...

To celebrate the holiday season, I was hoping some of you would be willing to submit something about a gift you received or gave. It could be a Mother’s Day Gift, Father’s Day, Birthday, Christmas, Hanukkah, or any other of gift-giving holiday I may be unaware of (which would actually be interesting). It could be a gift you liked, hated, or just didn’t know what to do with. It could be a gift you gave you wish you hadn't. It could be the note you wrote to Aunt Betty for the sweater you’d be mortified to wear. You can even make something up :) Whatever. Just make it something about a gift. Say, somewhere between one and five paragraphs.

Email your submissions to: unicornbellsubmissions@gmail.com with gift as the subject.

C’mon! It’ll be fun!

Hmmm...I'll have to think about this one. Interesting assignment.

the gift i am proudest of giving was the first christmas after full time employment, living on my own. i gave my parents 2 nights at a disney resort (we are disney nuts). then the resort never cashed my check! my parents got a free weekend stay and i didnt pay for it either! but the best part was paying back a small portion of what my parents have done for me (showing them they did a good job raising me!)

thanks for the memory, marcy =)

Not sure if this counts, but this year, I decided to write a "gift" story as my Christmas present to all of my readers and fellow writers.

The story I conceived was in two parts, one for the Naughty boys and girls, and one for the Nice. I posted the Naughty one on my blog already, and intended to post both at once, but I am still trying to finish the Nice one! I feel bad about that, but I have hopes yet of finishing it and posting it tomorrow, since I try to post once a week anyway.

So far, I've had very few reading it, though I've gotten positive response from those that have. I can't help but occasionally wonder if this even is an actual gift, or is this likened to the the horrible sweater your distant aunt gave you that you had preferred she had just forgotten you altogether?
